I'm weird when it comes to TV,  I could go without watching it for very long stretches of time. I once went 3 years without turning it on until the year the Phillies won the World Series. But when I do indulge, I'm a bit of a binge watcher. One if my favorite shows is Lucifer. I would call it a guilty pleasure kind of a show but actually does kind of delve into exploring elements of the human condition, particularly self-awareness.  If you're not familiar with it, it is a supernatural/fantasy series based on the comic by the same name by Neil Gaiman. The basic premise is that the devil, who's name is Lucifer Morningstar, has decided he is completely through with being the ruler of Hell and would prefer to come up to Earth and enjoy all of societies carnal desires. And what better place to do it than the City of Angels? So he opens up a ridiculously hedonistic nightclub called Lux (I mean he is the bearer of light!) and kinda ends up the working for the LAPD as the primary consultant to Det. Chloe Decker and sparks (and shenanigans!) fly from there! They are the two main charaters, but they make it very easy to become emotionally invested in all of them. From the deliciously demonic Mazikeen to the precocious and very precious 9 year old Trixie. And yes, Lucifer did raise the question as to why the child had the name one could mistake for a hooker.

An essential part of being a reader is having the ability to use good judgment while not being judgmental. I am glad that early on in my tarot journey I also learned that it's unwise to look at a specific card as either being "good" or "bad". Each card has positive and negative characteristics and is read in context with regard to other surrounding cards. Though I no longer read card reversals, there are the various methods of doing it which put a different slant on the card's meaning. The Devil card is a perfect example of this. This card usually alerts the reader to very negative situations and behaviors that are toxic and extremely limiting.  Something has seduced us and we have entangled ourselves in something that we are going to have a Devil of a time (pun intended) breaking free of. When this card comes up, it often means we have become enslaved to any number of things that we'd do wise to remove ourselves from. Post haste. However... it can definitely have positive connotations at times. Again, it really is dependant upon the question asked and the other cards that have come up.

Negative aspects of the Devil

• Abusive relationships
• Overindulgence
• Anger
• Lies
• Narcissistic behaviour
• Fear
• Rage
• Substance abuse
• Addiction - drugs, alcohol, food, people, sex, or any other tool for escapism
• Deviant behavior     
• Unhealthy or inappropriate desires
• Lust
• Cravings that cannot be controlled
• Intimidation
• Manipulation
• Abuse of power

Positive aspects of the Devil  

• Sex
• Seduction
• Indulging in pleasures of the flesh with wisdom and moderation
• Passion
• Behaviours between consenting adults that may be deemed as deviant by others
• Freedom from societal constraints
• Desire
• Lust
• Testing or breaking free of rules, fears and boundaries that no longer serve us
• Putting your own needs first 
• Setting very healthy boundariesReleasing guilt or shame

But as far as the show is concerned, due to the huge outpouring of support the show and the #SaveLucifer social media campaign, there is hope that the show man be saved. The hope at this point is that a steaming service like Netflicks or Amazon decides to pick the show up. Here's hoping!
